Riverhead, NY — August 9, 2025 — The Late Knight Warriors proudly participated in this year’s Riverhead Cardboard Boat Race with their custom-built boat, The Late Knight Falkor. While the team didn’t take home a trophy, the boat stayed afloat, advanced to the finals, and delivered exactly what the crew had hoped for—an incredible day of fun and community connection.
“Our main goal was to get the word out about our group and connect with the community, and we absolutely accomplished that,” said Laura Gottfried, Vice President of Late Knight Warriors. “Seeing our boat featured across so many respected local outlets was an added bonus.”
The Late Knight Falkor was spotted in media coverage from Riverhead Local, the Town of Riverhead’s official Facebook and Instagram accounts, Riverhead News-Review, Riverhead Patch, and even the well-known and reputable MC Mark MK’s Facebook page. (Click the links to see screenshots.)
The day was made even more exciting when one of the Late Knight Warriors members, racing alongside the team, won Best Spirit for his Hulk Hogan-themed boat and spot-on impersonation.
After the race, the celebration kept going at Long Ireland Beer Company, where anyone who mentioned the Late Knight Warriors received exclusive drink specials in honor of the event.
