A newly formed local team will debut at the Bayport fundraiser benefiting childhood cancer research.
BAYPORT, NY — Community, camaraderie, and a powerful cause will take center stage next month as the Late Knight Hooligans make their debut at the annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser hosted at Momo’s Too Sports Bar & Grill.
The newly formed team is a collaboration between the Late Knight Warriors and the Long Ireland Hooligans, bringing together local groups with a shared mission of supporting children battling cancer through grassroots fundraising and awareness efforts.
The March 21 event will benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven nonprofit that funds more childhood cancer research grants than any organization outside of the U.S. government.
Momo’s Too, a longtime community staple known for its food, service, and philanthropic involvement, has hosted St. Baldrick’s fundraisers in the past and will once again transform into a family-friendly hub for giving back.
The fundraiser also carries on a tradition once led by Long Ireland Beer Company, which previously hosted St. Baldrick’s events over five nonconsecutive years before closing earlier this year. Despite the brewery’s closure, its legacy of community involvement lives on through longtime regulars and previous shavees participating in this year’s event.
The Late Knight Warriors, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, aims to unite members of the community through social connection while creating opportunities to make a meaningful impact. Organizers say the partnership highlights how fun and philanthropy can come together to support a greater cause.
Attendees can expect a buffet, raffles, music from a live DJ, and the opportunity to cheer on volunteers shaving their heads in solidarity with children undergoing cancer treatment.
Supporters are invited to attend, donate to the Late Knight Hooligans team or contribute to individual fundraising efforts. Community members may also sign up to participate as shavees during the event.
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 12 p.m. at Momo’s Too Sports Bar & Grill, located at 667 Montauk Highway in Bayport. A rain date has been scheduled for March 22.
Organizers encourage residents of all ages to attend and help make a lasting impact for children with cancer — one shave at a time.
