Community Outreach Committee

Overview

The Late Knight Warriors Community Outreach Committee is responsible for building and strengthening meaningful relationships within the community throughout the year.

This committee plays a critical role in expanding our presence, increasing awareness, and creating opportunities for people to connect with and support our mission.

Core Objectives

To build strong, lasting relationships within the community that increase awareness, engagement, and support for Late Knight Warriors—while creating meaningful opportunities for connection, collaboration, and growth.

  • Increase donor and sponsorship opportunities
  • Grow volunteer engagement and membership
  • Establish relationships with local businesses and organizations
  • Create consistent opportunities for community interaction and visibility
Key Initiatives
  • Host meet & greets for prospective members
  • Help the board to organize member events focused on connection, feedback, and community
  • Identify opportunities to partner with bars, restaurants, and venues for hosted events and giveback opportunities
  • Build relationships with other organizations for collaborative events
  • Join and participate in local Chambers of Commerce and networking groups
  • Attend community and networking events to expand reach and visibility

Committee Structure & Roles

Leads the committee and oversees all operations.

  • Maintain timelines, initiatives, and engagement goals
  • Ensure alignment with LKW mission, values, and growth strategy
  • Recruit and organize committee members and event participants
  • Lead and facilitate committee meetings
  • Oversee all managers to ensure accountability and execution
  • Gather estimates for memberships (e.g., chambers), events, and fees and coordinate approvals with the board
  • Ensure financial transparency and accountability (track expenses, receipts, and spending)

Manages organization, communication, and documentation.

  • Schedule meetings (Director + at least one board member present)
  • Prepare meeting agendas
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes
  • Track applications, memberships, and follow-ups
  • Maintain organized committee records

Leads relationship-building efforts in the community.

  • Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings
  • Represent LKW at networking events
  • Build relationships with local businesses and community leaders
  • Connect with like-minded organizations for potential partnerships
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and exposure
  • Attend meetings with other like-minded organizations to promote collaboration

Leads fundraising and resource development efforts.

  • Coordinate fundraising for memberships, event costs, and outreach initiatives
  • Identify establishments that offer giveback programs
  • Secure venues willing to donate space, offer discounts, or support events
  • Build relationships that lead to long-term donor engagement
  • Identify and pursue sponsorship opportunities for events and the organization
  • Promote and communicate LKW sponsorship opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors

Leads visibility, storytelling, and content capture.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture photo and video content during networking and outreach events
  • Go live during key moments
  • Support the Marketing Director with social content (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook), as needed
  • Assist the Marketing Director with promoting events and initiatives
  • Help increase visibility across local media and community platforms

Support outreach efforts in various capacities, without being in a managerial role.

  • Attend networking and community events
  • Assist with tabling and event support
  • Help represent and promote LKW in the community
  • Contribute without holding a leadership role
  • Attend LKW events to show support and connect with people
