SAYVILLE, NY — The Late Knight Warriors are inviting families to celebrate the holiday season with a special Home Alone movie fundraiser that will support local families in need.
The LKW Holiday Movie Day will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Sayville Movie Theater, with check-in beginning at 12:45 p.m. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit the Kris Kringle Fund, a nonprofit that provides emergency assistance to Long Island families facing hardship during the holiday season.
The Kris Kringle Fund works with schools and churches to identify families facing unexpected financial strain. Volunteers coordinate support tailored to each family’s needs, offering relief, stability, and hope during the holidays.
Admission includes a movie ticket, popcorn, soda, and a donation to the Kris Kringle Fund. Children are encouraged to bring letters for Santa, who will make a special appearance inside the theater. Guests can also bring new, unwrapped toys to support local families, take part in a 50/50 raffle, and enjoy door prize giveaways.
LKW noted that tickets will be sold at the door, but their previous movie fundraiser — a screening of The Princess Bride — sold out all 70 seats.
LKW Vice President Laura Gottfried said the group recently wrapped up one of its most successful events to date. The “Cocktails for a Cause” fundraiser, held on Nov. 15, raised more than $10,000 for a Long Island one-year-old battling leukemia.
Founded within Long Island’s late-night hospitality community, LKW became a nonprofit in 2024. The group hosts year-round fundraising events that focus on helping local families, promoting community service, and supporting charitable causes across Long Island.
The Holiday Movie Day will be the organization’s final event of 2025 as LKW prepares its 2026 calendar.
